Lacking Webring Instructional Clarity - 07/30/2005
Hello. I know I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, and usually need to work a bit more than some in order to understand something. I read your pages and they are difficult to understand. It's like learning about what an elephant looks like by looking at its feet, legs, etc. It might be better to see a larger view to begin with.

Adjustments offered in the management page give pieces of code to enter in to the nav bar code (I think), but they don't give an example. I usually mess up the first time I do something, and I don't want to do that with a webring nav bar. I know HTML and could probably do just fine if I knew more about the nature of the code.

Is there a place where I can learn about what the writer of your instructional pages assumes I already know? The engineer who wrote the instructional pages did a fine job, but it is very wordy and not self-explanatory. I know I am missing out and not able to be as effective a member as I would if the tutorials were more basic.

The pages are difficult to read because the lines are so long.
If this is the desert I must endure to learn webrings, then so be it. I want to know more about what I am doing. Perhaps a primer is available.

With due respect,
queenpictoria

There are some sources of help.

Here is mine:
http://WebRingDotComHelp.org

It is far from complete or perfect, but it is a small contribution to the cause.

I'm sure others will post other help here for you as well.

You may also feel free to write me directly with any questions.

WRONG!

Well, not completely wrong; I mean you can get it there. But http://JSH.us/pqs is not the BEST page to get it.

The best page is
http://JSH.us/webring-email

Sorry about that. It's been one of those days, all day long.
