How do you get 2 nav bars? - 08/05/2005
I joined a ring and put up the code and a nav bar appeared on my site and it works. I then joined a second ring but did not change the nav bar code in any way. Now the page shows the new ring but not the old one. Do I have to install the nav bar code twice to get both bars to show?

I've seen some sites with many nav bars. I only want 2.

There is no problem with your page. It's a feature of Webring.. it is called 'Single Navbar Display' and is meant to show only the ring being currently navigated.. You can read more about it here: http://home.dejazzd.com/androb/wrug/singlenb.html

You can override this and force it to show both (all) navbars...
You just add '&full=y' to your navbar code on your webpage..

Example: script language=javascript src="http://ss.webring.com/navbar?f=j;y=YourID;u=#####&full=y"

I have used this feature on pages where I have a handful of rings or less to display.

I think I will need both nav bars because people who get to my site might have interest in either of the rings.

Thanks for the info. I will test it out.

You can also split the stack - so that both bars will show no matter what. You would go to "URLs You Registered" click on the U# underneath the page you want to split the stack for. (It's a link that looks something like this: 10123456 edit URL settings) The click on "Stack Split Form" It's just another way to accomplish what you want, but it can also allow you to do other things as well. monals--

Thanks for the info. I took the suggestion offered before and it seems like it is going to work ok. If not, I'll try your suggestion. George
