If Webring ... horridly disappointed. - pt2 - 10/08/2006
Throughout "Wanderings Horse Country" (that sites name) were various rings - breeding history rings and various "activity" rings for the Arabian, equitation for the the quarterhorses, grooming, equitation, breeding and others for the Paints. In all, I guess there were about 30 different rings - each specific to a particular facet of each horse and its breed.

Show me just one ring - ANYWHERE IN WEBRING, RINGSURF, WHEREEVER - that covers **ALL** of that and doesn't have 1,000+ members and I'll gladly recant my thoughts about all that's going on in WR. I'd probably join it too, being that my ring membership count is now 2 - one for my horse memorial, one for my airplanes.

Yeah, a group of websites that together form a single family website has a lot of use for 5 rings. No telling how many thousands of hits and $$$ we and WebRing will get from this.

Yeah, I'm disappointed in WebRing. I'm disappointed in the fact that today's world makes everything a case of profitability. I guess there really is no place anymore for us people and our personal websites. If we're not in it to make $$$, we simply don't count anymore. For that, I'm the most disappointed.

BUT, my 750-page+ website will survive. With or without WR, we'll still be around for awhile.

Dave
