This is an open discussion forum for users to discuss WebRing features, wishes, thoughts, etc. QUESTIONS about and PROBLEMS with the System should be posted in detail using the support forums in Help. Negative, derogatory or personal comments will be deleted. Sadly, due to spamming and anonymous trashing of other users we have had to restrict posting to signed in members.

Litte confused on what's going on here.... - 08/21/2009
So I submit my website, put the script up, join a ring, and then traffic gets sent to my website?

Yeah, exactly. It happens in several ways. First, the group of sites that comprise the ring act a as a cooperative. people that visit one site may travel (provided the navigation code is placed in a visible location - hence the reason we harp on this until we're hoarse) from one site to another via the navigation code. Second, tha collection of sites grouped on an active hub page (new sites, rearranging by manager, active forum all help here) attract search engine queries - the larger entity tending to rank higher in search results (on average) than individual sites can. Thirdly, by linking your site to topically relevant communities your site's search engine rank can be improved.

The more active you AND the other community members are the better the results. So, choose your communities with some discretion, and then participate some.
