   NDC Railroad between Bangall and Pine Plains Preview Go
The Central New England Railway (CNE) / Newburgh, Dutchess and Connecticut Railroad ran between Bangall to Pine Plains. Running north from Millbrook the first station was a flag stop called Shunpike.The NDC merged into the CNE which became part of the New Haven Railroad. All these tracks were gone by 1938, but the path can still be followed.

   New York Central Home Page: Second Section Preview Go
The New York Central System was home of the Great Steel Fleet of passenger trains including the 20th Century Limited and Empire State Express. Known as The Water Level Route, it served customers between New York/Boston and Chicago, as well as many other cities in the Eastern United States. It included the Boston & Albany, Pittsburgh & Lake Erie, Peoria & Eastern, Big Four, Michigan Central, among others.
   Quebec, Montreal, and Southern Railway Preview Go
The Quebec, Montreal, and Southern Railway was once owned by the Delaware & Hudson Railway, then by Canadian National Railroad. The reason for buying the Canadian railroads was to haul pulpwood south to the paper mills in the upper Hudson Valley and establish new coal markets to the north. Although it had been acquired with the intent to complete the track to Quebec City, that plan never came to fruition.
