The Adventure Game Interpreter was produced by Sierra Online as a platform for their games in the late 1980's. It was ported to many systems like the PC, Amiga and Macintosh. Games using the interpreter have very distinctive blocky graphics and a text parser interface where the player could type in their commands.
The AGI interpreter was the starting point for many of Sierra's classic adventure games such as Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, Space Quest, Goldrush and Manhunter.
Home of the AGI PICEDIT utility, The Ruby Cast demo, and all of the original AGI DOS tools written by Lance Ewing back in the mid to late 1990s. Also home to the new Java version of PICEDIT.
Intermezzo Software is "Dedicated to producing Kings Quest games in fractional, negative, and imaginary numbers." So far, I have only produced one game, which takes place shortly after Price Alexander has been kidnapped. The game stars Queen Valanice in the leading role as she seeks to locate her son and save him from death.
Were you Space Quest 1, Space Quest 2, King Quest 1 and 2 and so on fan. Do you suffer now from nostalgia? Do you like to type your commands, not just click with the mouse here and there? Do you like more flexibile dialogues with other persons in the game?
