Anti-Quackery Ring

This ring is for sites that combat & debunk health-related frauds, myths, fads, and fallacies, and are more interested in real, objective, scientific proof, than in the speculative, subjective, and unproven theories and anecdotes of so-Called "Alternative" Medicine (sCAM)....................................... WARNING: Ring members have no control over advertisements appearing on this page, and neither endorse nor recommend their subject matter.

the real quackery/scam is "mainstream" medicine -- funded by few rich old farts and backed up by bs science and years and years of brainwashing in medical school. Vaccines, chemotherapy on and on -- they can't even cure a cold with modern medicine

NOT influenced by Citalopram - evidence of Dr Herxheimer is not evidence that should be received on the appeal - discredited like FIDDAMAN - R v Smallshire - extract [18] It is against this background that we turn to the question as to whether Dr Herxheimer's evidence is capable of belief and whether it affords grounds for allowing the appeal on the basis of a defence of automatism. The account given by Mr Smallshire to the police who went to his house on 16 December 2008, after ...

David Healy FIDDAMAN - CARDIFF – No medical therapy is treated more differently by countries, regions, hospitals, and doctors than electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). This is surprising in an era when treatments that work should supposedly be used with some uniformity. In fact, despite a consensus that ECT is the most effective treatment for severe depressive disorder, i...

It's funny how the skeptics claim things that they don't understand don't work when there are extremely simple techniques showing that they do work. I agree with Steven Otte. "Main stream" medicine pushed on doctors ( who then push it on us ) by Billion Dollar corporations kills more people in 1 year than alternative ( and much less expensive ) therapy does in a lifetime. If you want to see for yourself that these alternative therapies work then just try them for yourself. If you want to learn the techniques to show that they have an immediate positive affect on your body then just ask me. Here's my website for you to learn Why they work. http://www.BradMeek.CieAura.com Also, you can go here to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the wireless world we now live in and It's Absolutely Free so pass it on ! http://www.FreeShield.com

I struggle a little with the inclusion of ratbags.com as a medical resource. No matter what this person thinks they are doing, they are not teaching, nor legitimately debunking anything. They are snide, hateful, and inhuman in their approach.
I have to say that I am not surprised by their approach, because, particularly in the case of vaccination, those who don't get why anyone would question it are often rude and degrading in their approach to those who do.
I am less likely now to look for information about anything in the so-called Anti-Quackery Webring due to association and am recommending that my child's science book resources remove it as a link due to the extreme negative nature.
Intelligent discourse on a subject is more likely to open eyes if that is the desire. This kind of nastiness shows nothing but disdain for the reader should they dare be of a differing view and for that reader to become equally enraged, to find a way to bring its offensive and therefore questionable nature to the attention of those who might be injured by association (my route), or to simply disregard it as "another hater".
That said, I value all opinions when they are expressed in a palatable fashion, or at least when they don't potentially alienate the reader / degrade an entire sector of society. To me this equals bigotry of a heinous nature, reflecting the writer's view that some people don't deserve to live free or possibly even live at all. (That's what I got from it.)
I would highly recommend, unless it is being used as an example of a quackery site, that ratbags.com be removed from this webring.

Some examples of very dubious claims, particularly claims that come from apparently respectable sources (universities or hospitals) rather than private profiteers. Also stuff on the latest CAM scams, and ineffective legislation.
