I am a transport planner interested in the importance of land based communications in promoting civilisation.
I note that ther are nearly 2000 tidal causeways around the UK but cannot find any reference to surveys of these sites as to their construction and antiquity. It is unlikely that they are nutural and my conclusion is that they were constructed during the holocene when our ancestors reacted to changing sea levels?
