To disciples and students of Paramhansa Yogananda, and collectors of spiritual and/or rare books:
I will be putting the 1951 edition of Autobiography of a Yogi for auction on Ebay on November 1st.
This is the last edition written and edited by Paramhansa Yogananda himself. It contains an additional chapter as well as revisions to the 1946/1949 editions. It is the most important, essential edition of this great book. However, and paradoxically, this 1951 edition seems next to impossible to find.
The Details:
Autobiography of a Yogi / Paramhansa Yogananda / Philosophical Library, Inc. / New York / 1951 / Preface by W.Y. Evans-Wentz / Third edition / Revised and Enlarged / 501 pages / 5 3/4 x 8 3/4 / blue cloth hardback.
My description below is non professional, please refer to the photos. There will be many more photos on the Ebay listing so that you can better determine the condition of the book.
The book appears to be unread, it is clean and tight like new. The pages are crisp and the corners of the pages show no sign of having been turned. The book is perfectly straight, or perhaps rectangular is a better word. The binding seems perfect, no page is loose. All pages are clean with no spots or marks.
There is a gift inscription on the 1st (blank) page, on the side facing the cover.
If you have questions about the book before the auction, you can contact me at rwlp@cox.net
Thank you,
Richard Weston
