Barbershop Harmony

Barbershop singing is four part a cappella harmony. This is a lifetime hobby and there are international organizations dedicated to preserving this style. The Barbershop Harmony Society [SPEBSQSA, Inc.] is the men's version while Sweet Adelines International [S.A.I.] and Harmony, Inc., are two of the popular female organizations. For information on Barbershop Harmony visit spebsqsa.org, sweetadelineintl.org, and harmonyinc.org. {This Ring was originally started by the Cascade Chorus of the Evergreen District of the BHS years ago and we thank them for getting it going.}

There are several sites in the ring that don't have a webring link. It's disappointing to get to one of those websites and then not be able to surf the ring any more. One of them is "Jewbilation".

The official home page of Tulsa's Founders Chorus; birthplace of SPEBSQSA. Containing information about performances, rehearsals and other activities on and off "the risers".

Many resorts, health clubs, condominium and apartment complexes and industrial facilities are equipped with <a href="http://www.modernspa.com/Traditional-Saunas.html">sauna rooms</a>. Enjoying saunas is becoming a kind of luxury enjoyment, but going out to these public places is not that convinent, sometimes even waste time and money. Enjoying spa at home is now a fashion, you can install a traditional sauna room or <a href="http://www.modernspa.com/Sauna---Steam.html">2-in-1 steam and sauna room</a> at your <a href="http://www.modernspa.com">bathroom</a>. There is also an amazing <a href="http://www.modernspa.com/3-in-1-SPA-Center.html">3-in-1 spa center</a>, you can enjoy <a href="http://www.modernspa.com/Steam-Showers.html">steam</a>, <a href="http://www.modernspa.com/Traditional-Saunas.html">sauna</a> and <a href="http://www.modernspa.com/1-2-Person-Hot-Tub.html">massage bathtubs</a> just at one space.

This is where the Barbershop Harmony Ringmaster hangs out and where one can get the old-style code to add the ring to your own page. The Ringmaster was awarded a P.R.O.B.E. Outstanding Achievement Award at the SPEBSQSA International Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2004 for bringing this Ring back to life and promoting Barbershop for all Barbershop-related web site

If you come across a site in the BBS Harmony webring that has no email or User ID associated with it, leave the webmaster of that site a feedback message to contact the BBS Harmony webring Ringmaster before you leave that site.

This will make the process of getting everyone back into control of their own sites within the Ring alot easier!

If anyone has any questions about anything webring-related in this ring or any others, feel free to email the Ringmaster [me] for help. I've been doing this for many years and will be happy to help.

Thanks.

When the webring converted from a Yahoo service back to its roots in 2001, many of the sites associated with the BBS Harmony webring [and all other webrings out there] lost their connection to the person who originally submitted and maintained those sites within the BBSH ring.

Some of those sites are still listed even though the webmasters running those sites have no way to get into their site information or make any changes because they don't exist as far as the Webring is concerned.

This loss of connection doesn't happen to any site joining the ring since I adopted it as an orphan and got it working again but many webmasters don't have a clue their place in the ring is not directly related to them.

It is a slow process to visit each site [over 200 of them] and make an attempt to communicate with someone who is responsible for site ops. You'd be amazed how many sites are on autopilot or work without anyone paying attention to them.

One of the purposes of the BBS Harmony Forum is to reconnect these lost souls to their sites so they can update them or change them as necessary. This is a simple process.

Anyone operating a site on the BBSH ring, can go to:

http://www.webring.com

and sign up for a User ID. Once established, you need only email that User ID name to the Ringmaster [cbaker84@bellsouth.net]. Then I will attach that User ID to that site and it will be accessible to that webmaster.

Rest assured, that no User ID will be applied to a site without first checking to make sure it is a legitimate source for the site in question. This will also assist in reassigning site control to new webmasters when the old one can no longer be contacted or found.

This information will be permanently on display here and periodically sent into the Harmonet and SING lists as well as various Barbershop publications and local fora.

Any questions about Ring ops, please send email to the Ringmaster using the Email the Ringmaster option on the Ring page.
