The Grey Robe Benedictines is an ecumenical and inclusive order of Benedictines comprised of individuals whose journey calls them to monastic spirituality through the Rule of St. Benedict. We come from all walks of life and a variety of faith traditions.

We are a monastery without walls. Our members live and work in the secular world, but come together as a community for prayer and holy work in social justice causes and works of mercy. Our members, both women and men, are married, in committed relationships, single, celibate, divorced or remarried. All are welcome.

In keeping with Benedictine tradition, each community stands independently with a life and character of its own. However, each of our communities and members follow the Rule of St. Benedict in their life through prayer, work and outreach.
