A ring dedicated to American music in the 19th century. Frances Scott Key puts his poem, The Defense of Fort McHenry to the music of a popular British song to publish The Star Spangled Banner. Philharmonic Society of New York founded the nation's oldest symphony orchestra. This was the era of Stephen C. Foster, Father of American Music and songwriter of My Old Kentucky Home, Beautiful Dreamer, Oh Susanna, Old Folks at Home, etc.  This was the time of the American Civil War when both North and South used music to rally troops, for recreation and to march by. Both sides would borrow each other’s tunes or lyrics. The 19th Century was the birth of a young nations very own music.
