Digital/Film Discussion
Depends on you usage of the media:
1] Film is a hi-res format, and lasts for decades, so use for important stuff. Drawback is slow film reproduction time, but offers "natural" effects". Requires scanning to put on the web unless the Foto developers offer a CD-ROM copy, as they usually do!
2] Digital is a lower-res but ample for Web Galleries, offers a quick reproduction as compared to film developing.
Prices are slightly higher but considering film costs, it evens out! Hardcopiers of the media are done by specialists, or if U have a real pricy printer!

Hi to all and best wishes for the Yule season.
Hi Laurenz and others, thanks for the invite.
I have not been very active on photography sites for a while but I'll look in and see whats going on. Been too busy studying for another degree.

You gotta love this forum1
Sure, now we can see what is really happening on our sites without being a webring moderator! We can get a lot of nfo on our sites....right? We will have a different kinda rating as compared to ISP counters on other sites! More critic for us all heh!
One problem with the Webring, as U all know, Gator.com activex installs itself to the registry and \windows IEGator.log. I really don't need a cop activex in an Art environment! Be sure to clean your registry with AD-Aware or some kinda spyware system, if U care. It will also speed-up your computer for lack of backrgoud tasks!
Yeah let's get user input on the forum, and let's keep it free!

Creative Photography Ring: now we have a forum! (1)
Dear members,
Webring has just given us an exciting new option: Webring forums!
So far, you could contact me with your suggestions and any problems you had and I would send out messages to all our members from time to time.
So, no direct interaction between the members.
Now, there's a new option to attach a forum to a Webring.
So, this could give you all an opportunity to
- inform us about updates on your website
- ask for advice on the layout of your page
- ask for comments on your pictures or
- just to exchange practical advice on photography in general.
This is something completely new. If people are interested in this feature and if everything works out, our forum will be here to stay. If it doesn't seem to be worthwhile, I'll disable the forum again.
Also, at the moment any Webring member can post there, without prior registration. If this leads to SPAM, porn, gore and hatred or personal attcks being posted there, the forum will be restricted to registered users. This would mean that everybody had to sign up for the forum in advance. I hope this won't be necessary though.
