some useful info is that a degu can have just about an kind of bedding EXCEPT for wood shavings the wood shavings will irrate their eyes. a degu can live 6-10 years and eventually learns its owners smell. you rdegu may also sometimes sqweak when it wants out of its cage to play . they also have to have somthing to chew on because their teeth are constantly growing. one last thing is that a degu has to have a running wheel if not they may become depressed. i hope this helps!
