Midas Battlefield Tours run yearly May trips to the battlefields of Stalingrad and Kursk. This year two remarkable Russian veterans are joining the tour. General Anatoly Mereshko fought with his machine gun company at all Stalingrad's key locations. He was staff officer to the Russian commander Chuikov and present at the HQ when the big decisions were taken. He subsequently fought all the way to Berlin and later became Deputy Commander of the Warsaw Pact. He has an exceptional grasp of the battle. Artilleryman Mikhail Borisov was made Hero of the Soviet Union for his courage at the tank battle of Kursk, where he destroyed nine Tiger tanks.
