A ring linking non commercial New Zealand railway sites. New Zealand is a country of 4 million people in the South Pacific. The majority of lines are in 1067mm (3'6") gauge. The national network is owned by the government and maintained and controlled by ONTRACK (NZ Railways Corporation). In 2008 the government bought back railway operations and formed Kiwi Rail.  Suburban trains in Auckland are operated by Veolia Transport.  Many heritage railways maintain their own very limited infrastructure.  They keep the heritage of New Zealand Railways alive.
