Find in this ring anything to do with the delicate art of tatting (AKA lacemaking), be it with needle or shuttle. Tatting is a surprisingly new art, only a couple hundred years old, and use of a needle rather than a shuttle is almost 100 years newer. Knotting may not be thought of as a particularly dainty procedure -- one pictures sailors and boy scouts -- but its finer application, in addition to another maritime activity, netting, both having preceded tatting, may also have contributed to its invention, Lace your way through this ring of tatting (not tatty!) members!
