Hello,
I was the founder Ringmaster of the Amateur Geologists Webring.
It was put up for adoption without my knowledge and the new owner refuses to negotiate with me unless Webring.com can confirm my former owenership.
Could you provise me with a log which shows that I was the former owner and why it was put up for adoption, please?
My e-mail adresses are mike@horne28.freeserve.co.uk and m.j.horne@hull.ac.uk
the webring URL is http://u.webring.com/hub?ring=amateurgeologist thanks for your help. (I hope I have done this right - I am dyslexic and found your instructions hard to follow)
regards,
Mike Horne
http://f.webring.com/hub?ring=automotivemadnes - I was unable to use my computer for a few months and when I finally got it back I found that my webring had been given to someone else. What's the story behind this ?
i just found out that my webring world wide was put up for adoption. the address is http://r.webring.com/hub?ring=worldwide.
i did not want to give it away and i did not get an email warning. so what's up?????????????
My ring, Catholic Apologetics, at http://s.webring.com/hub?ring=catholicapologet was made adoptable without my knowledge. The mailserver that my e-mail went to was down for awhile without my knowledge, and only came back up today, when I finally got all of the messages regarding this Webring.
that my ring was up for adoption. Now I find that it has been taken over by someone else. I had a valid working email address at the time. What is going on? No wonder I had not gotten any emails about adding people to my webring. The webring is journalgoddesses. http://u.webring.com/hub?ring=journalgoddesses
I don't understand what has happened with this site.
Hi, I was creator and ringmaster of "Depo Provera Information and Support" since I started it in 2000. It's been adopted by someone else and I don't know why!!
I did not willingly give up this ring, a search engine site has adopted it without my permission.
I dont want to lose all the sites in my ring, but I am very annoyed that a search engine site can just go in and adopt someones webring without them knowing.
I have not been well since April this year, and did not tend the webring regularly as I was in hospital, when I got home and was well enough to use my computer again I find it has been adopted.
So what happens now?
Surely this is a security issue, if anyone can just go in and take over someone elses webring.
This should not be an automatic procedure.
I am very angry about this. And from reading this forum it's not only me that this has happened to.
I'm just grateful I didnt upgrade my webring account, as I was thinking of doing.
