This webring is for all DIY'ers who like to build amplifiers based on the IC's from National Semiconductor, LM3875 and LM3886 and similar. Manufactures are also welcome, everybody in fact who have something with LM3875 and LM3886. The basic criteria is that you have created something on your own.
I have designed a Gainclone which is super universal and uses LM3886 and my latest uses also SMD parts. I have also pcb's for sale. All sites are welcome to join as long as they contains the gainclone concept, which is an amp with LM3875, LM3876, LM3886.
My impletention of the so called Gainclone, long before the Gainclone concept was invented. It's LM3876 based but LM3886 will also fit. Boards are available.
The original "Tube Gainclone for DIY Buffs" website by Joe Rasmussen. Inverted GC with Tube Buffer and interesting features, such as LPF to shape bandwidth and tweak sound character (better soundstaging), zero feedback above 200KHz. Extensive spectral harmonic measurements at various power levels, IMD graph, effects caused by small 1000uF caps and more... Circuit diagrams
A technical article explaining what Gainclones are, why they "work" as high end amplifiers, and some of the things that go into making a good audio amplifier.
electroNET has schematics of audio amplifiers, power supplies and more! Most are complete with PCB layouts for easy project building! We also have a electronics forum!
In-depth technical information about the LM4780 stereo 60W chip and my design log for building audio power amplifiers using this dual-LM3886 equivalent. I also have a detailed comparison of specifications between the LM1875, LM3875, LM3886 and LM4780, including equivalent schematics of each chip. And, oh yes, the obligatory collection of links.
DIY audio projects, including a differential input (buffered) LM3886 GainClone amplifier, an LM4780 parallel ChipAmp, a Krell KSA 50 Clone, a preamplifier, a battery powered differential line driver, a soft start circuit, and a few .wav files of audio test signals. There are a lot of pictures, a few schematics, and even some pcb layouts to give an idea of how these items
Hi! This is an archive of my DIY Electronics projects. Gainclones, solid state amps, subwoofer projects and many more to come. I have just uploaded some pics of my Tube Buffered LM3875 Gainclone Project.
