Did you see Gov. Mitch Daniels give the Republican Response to the State of the Union? What an eloquent delivery! What great ideas! He was so incisive in pointing out the differences in the philosophies of true Republicanism versus the Obama administration. It's too bad (for us)that it all gets diluted with elected officials' self-interest and big money. If we could only get back to those conservative/libertarian goals, the country would be much better off. The older I get, the smarter Barry Goldwater appears! Can anybody say "Brokered Convention"?

This is going on in America in 2011, not 1951 or some "radical islamist" third world country:
Kentucky church votes to ban interracial couples
This is disturbing on many levels, but let's just take the "christian" aspect. There isn't one. This in no way dovetails with anything even remotely christian. And what's more, YOU and I are paying to allow these sick bigoted idiots to behave this way.
This church needs to be disavowed by any higher organization it is associated with and have it's tax exempt status revoked. Otherwise, we as a society are sponsoring bigotry. Period.

She did not asy so directly, but I'll challenge her, and I'll take the same challenge any day any time:
Obama calls waterboarding 'torture'
I agree, but I'm willing to pu this to the GOPhers infamous "litmus" test:
If you thinks it's OK then subject yourself to it.
If not, shut the F up. Period. It's not a "we're at war" bullshit line. Either it's OK under any and all circumstances, including yourself, or it's not. Even McCain agrees on this one.
You think it's OK? Go get waterboarded then write back here.

There is no subtle way of saying this. With this to back things up
Think Twice
Can and his staff have stepped over a line. Women, anyone, should think twice before reporting abuse because they will be hounded to the gates of hell by those in power and with money?
What has this country come to?

Seems like any time I listen to the news or pick up a paper and there is a report of some gross abuse of some sort it's either in Florida or Texas. Texas seems to be leading the way lately. Don't know, maybe all those Carl Hiasan boosk got into floridians heads and made them shape up some. Or maybe Texas is just that bad.
Texas judge beats daughter
OK, let's just be clear here. He beat the crap out of her and she, suspecting it, filmed. Regardless of what all happened in the years in between, or why it was only released now, the fact remains that a Texas judge, one who hears child abuse cases no less, BEAT his daughter. That's not discipline, that's criminla, judge or not.
Why is this man only on suspension? He needs to be removed and disbarred.

This may seem like one of those "gotcha" articles where once you read on yo ufind out the girl was some druggie hooker or soemthing. Not this time. Young woman, from the area, walking through the park, without ID, gets stopped. No problem. Could be a mass murder, terrorist, etc so drag her in and do the world a favor. But, once it gets resolved and a judge drops tha case/charges she should just go with an admonition "young lady always carry your ID" right? Wrong. Rambo decides to move had from jail to jail for awhile. Why? Because he thinks he is the law.
These are the kinds of policemen that the world does not need. In fact, they should be arrested, prosecuted and sent to jail.
Read and decide for yourself.
