A feeling of tingling or burning could be your first sign of a commonly occurring damage to the nerves -- particularly in your feet. Also known as neuropathy, this kind of diabetes complication causes decreased sensation and makes the foot prone to undetected injury. Inspect your feet every single day and have your physician check them at least once a year, but be sure to report any interim problems immediately.

BLOOD SUGAR IMBALANCE? EAT BROCCOLI AND PEANUTS. The chromium in broccoli and peanuts helps regulate insulin and blood sugar.

Manage your blood sugar levels with the help of nettles. Boil a handful of freshly picked leaves in 1 cup of water for 3 minutes, strain. Drink the tea three times a day to lower blood sugar and help maintain healthy levels of hemoglobin, the oxygen carrying components of the blood.

Fiber is a great dietary aid, especially for those who have Diabetes. Fiber does it all. It not only helps digestion and prevents constipation, it also reduces blood sugar and cholesterol. So do yourself a favor by adding fiber to your meals. Eating AT LEAST 25 - 30 grams of fiber a day gives many benefits throughout the day. The added fiber also helps you in weight loss. It will help to fill you up so that your calorie intake is lower...thus weight loss occurs.

Tip: 1/2 cup of lentils have 8 grams of fiber!

Life is not over because you have diabetes. Make the most of what you have, be grateful.
