Native Americans were adopted out in alarming rates in the 1940's through the 1970's. In 1978 the Indian Child Welfare Act halted adoptions and fostering of Native children by other than Native people. BUT, many have slipped through the "system's" fingers. We Lost Birds from these past generations, and generations to come share a unique and frightening experience that only other Lost Birds can relate to. This Ring will, hopefully, help us to gather together and find "home" and healing.
