I am trying to find some info on my 5th great grandfather William T Johnson( american name) His Norwegian name may be Vilhelm Johansen or Johansson. What I found is that he was born March 8, 1863 in Avaldsnes, Rogaland Norway and married to a Maria (Mary) Dahl. Any info would be helpful.. Thanks
My daughter's father is Norwegian. He told her that his orginal family name was Jaxlan but was changed when the family immigrated. I can't find a surname that is even similar. Does anyone have any idea of a Norwegian name that may sound like Jaxlan?

Stene was born in Norway Dec. 14, 1887 and then moved from their to Preston Minn. in 1899. His brother was Ed hanson and two sisters Herlan and Ida.
