Anglo-Nubian frequently just called Nubian goats were developed in Great Britain. Native milching goats were crossed with several breeds from Africa and the Middle East. Their milk is high in buttermilk. They typically weigh 135 (female) and 175 (male) and stand 30 (female) and 35 (male) inches tall. They have long ears. The breeds crossed to produce this breed resulted in a goat that is adopted to hot, dry climates making them ideal for the Southwestern and Western United States. Members of the World of Goats-Nubian Dairy provide valuable information about breeding, genetics, nutritional needs, and photos of does, bucks, and show winners on their websites. Everyone from experienced breeders looking to bring new blood into their herd to someone just thinking about getting started raising goats will enjoy these websites.
