How fast can a 2.2 liter ingine go?

hello
looking to sell my 88 toyota celica asap.
this thing gets excellent gas mileage, 40 bucks fills it up.
i've spent over a thousand dollars getting it fixed and improved upon to run great.

sun roof, AC, power windows/doors, cd player/aux stereo system with subwoofer. alloy wheels.
ALL NEW: (0-4 months old) tires (5) brakes, rotors, calipers, axel, headgasket, battery
the interior fabric and components are all beautiful because a sun shade was always used, so no tears or rips or fading.
200k miles.

i'm selling it because i'm broke and don't have a job and can't afford to get it to pass a smog test and renew the registration. i've been taking it to the same mechanic for years and years, he said it'd be about 300 to fix.

Hello,

just a short note for the guys that think of buying a high volume oil pump. I bought one from Rick Dormoi, Toyhead. This is sadly not a high volume oil pump, it is stock. I made a picture of the eaton gears of a stock one and the fake high volume pump:

My 2000 celica has over 215,000 miles on it. It is starting to burn oil (I add a quart of oil everytime I fill up with gas). I really enjoy this car but is it time to replace it or should a new motor be put in the car? Any suggestions?? Does this model of the Celica (the last and seventh generation of the series) have the potential to become a classic?
