Recently found husky/malamute mix in heavy traffic that has been lost/abandoned for very long time in Mesquite, Dallas area. Beautiful, shaggy, white male with sprinkling of beige/gray on back. Appears to be about 4-5 y/o. Sweet, friendly dog. Very large head and feet. Don't know if neutered or not. Probably about 65# right now, but very thin and would probably weigh much more if weight was what it should be. We're too elderly to properly care for this dog, and all the no-kill shelters are too full to take him. Will someone be interested in him? Txwriter@aol.com

Louisiana Catahoula dog needs a new home. We found her abandoned in TX and brought her home to Indiana but do not have the proper shelter for her to make it through the winter. We thought we would be able to get a nice barn or shed for her to use as a "dog house" but it hasn't worked out. Does anybody want to adopt her? She's amamzing but can't live in the house.

We rescued a beautiful Anatolian Shepherd from a rescue here in the NE Texas area. The rescue seemed to be well-run and the owners were caring people. The grounds were very clean and the dogs as well.
However, after seeing this dog 3 times, we had not done any research on the breed. That is because we visited the rescue to see another dog and try to bond with it. This dog never bonded with me, but the AS mezmerized my husband and they fell in love with each other. So, we took her instead.
It appears this dog had no training but a lot of abuse. She is terrified of her collar and her leash. She appears not to understand that she is to respond when her name is called, she doesn't know basic commands and worse - we read that if she is age 3 or 4 (their estimate) and has had no training, she will never respond to commands.
Can anyone share their thoughts with me about these issues?
Thank you.
