This webring was created to bring together resources for those who suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Sites in the ring are diverse, providing information on the disorder, offering balanced, positive educational or theraputic support, expressing personal experiences, giving insights into healing and transcending the disorder, and communicating through any artistic medium their own experience with PTSD.
When veterans do sufficient research instead of listening to psychologist and psychiatrists they will learn that there is no such thing as PTSD. Basically, it cannot be defined. It is not an illness so it cannot be treated. All the pills prescribed by doctors causes the same effects that is said of PTSD. On the other side of the coin is this. If there is no such thing as PTSD, then there will not be sufficient compensation. I am a combat veteran of Vietnam, Ranger.
As a combat wounded veteran, I offer to speak for fallen friends - In war, it is understood that you give your word of honor to do your duty -- that is -- stand and fight instead of running away and deserting your friends - When you keep your word despite desperately desiring to flee the screaming hell all around, you earn honor - Earning honor under fire changes who you are.

http://www.allostaticoverload.co m/ is a lobby for medical research to be done into chronic stress overload to see how it is affecting the HPA Axis,the auto immune system,cellular structure and gene composition. The combined buildup of the previous is called Allostatic Load and when it overloads it is called Allostatic Overload. Although it affects the whole community it is particularly noticeable in soldiers who go from the healthiest of there nations to the unhealthiest. PTSD is only ONE of many diseases that Allostatic Overload is probably the leading contributer to and it does not kill you, but those who have PTSD are more likely to have some of the others which have the protential to put them in an early grave which is why research is needed to be directed at the cause rather then the result.
