Now doctors may soon be given the right to refuse to treat gay patients because it's "against their religion." As part of the religious right's ongoing effort to impose their religion on the rest of America, Michigan is on the verge of passing a law that would let doctors refuse to treat patients because of the doctor's moral, ethical or religious grounds. Opponents of the proposed law say it could permit an emergency medical technician (I think that's the PC word for ambulance guy) from treating someone because they're gay - something that happened in DC a few years back to a transgendered person who as a result died. Yes, in the name of "religious freedom," these Bible thumping maniacs would rather have you die than "offend" their sensibilities. This is the kind of intolerance that is now being accepted as legitimate political debate in George Bush's America.

Hello from Dave of dbkinma. I have just adopted this ring on 04/01/04. I am trying to reorganize it and promote it as a friendly and relaxed place for the older gay male community of which I am a part. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
