The Reconstruction of the NYC and rebuilding at Fishkill Landing starting in 1913. The Newburgh, Dutchess and Connecticut Railroad became part of the Central New England Railway (CNE). The New York Central ran from New York City to Albany and beyond through the Hudson Valley. The two roads met at Fishkill Landing.

Budd announced the RDC (Rail Diesel Car)in 1949. Some are still in use. One successful operation was between Bridgeport and Waterbury, Connecticut. Now that they are disappearing, many of us tend to forget about Rail Diesel Cars (RDC).
