Leendert Saarloos mixed wolf with shepherd to "improve" the breed. However, the wolf instinct took over a bit too strongly, creating a stronger pack drive and less of an inclination to attack something. Wolves are more timid than the myths let on. Do you think that Saarloos's experiment (i.e. the Saarlooswolfhond) helped to disspell the myth of the wolf as a bloodthirsty monster?
