Looking for lost relatives!!! Are you related to them???
Hi. My name is Marie Sparling & I'm from Monteith, Ontario, Canada.
My Dad & I have been looking for our Sacndinavian Relatives for over 13+ years now with no luck at all.
...Dad & his older sister, recently went through some of their Maternal Grandfather's old photos but, don't know who they are.
Our Grandpa was born "Alfred Johansen" on December 7, 1899 in Kristiania, (Oslo), Norway.
His father was "Marius Johansen" born in 1863 in Kristiania (Oslo), Norway.
His mother was "Anna Eriksen" born in 1870 in Sweden.
His older sister, "Alvilde Johansen" was born in 1896 in Kristiania (Oslo), Norway.
His older sister, "Josefine Johansen" was born in either, 1897 or 1898 in Kristiania (Oslo), Norway. (Both years were given in the 1900 Norway Census.)
In the 1900 Norway Census, this family was living at a farm called, "Kirkegaardsgaden 21".
Our Grandfather, "Alfred Johansen" immigrated from Norway to Ontario, Canada in 1926 & don't know if he came with family or alone.
Grandpa Alfred lived here in Ontario, Canada & worked as a laborer cutting pulp wood. He died on October 4, 1953 of Leukemia (at the same hospital that my Dad was born in June of that year.)
Growing up, we never knew our Grandfather, Alfred or anything about his families; & are really hoping to be united with our immediate relatives.
