There are also areas for posting opinion (including rants) and promoting your website, latest book or project, or whatever you are into these days. In addition, there's an area for personal member blogs (which can be public or private w/password protection).
We participate in the PBL (Poetry Board League) competition...a friendly competition between poetry boards. Any member is eligible for nomination.
You'll also find interesting challenges to spark your muse. New challenges are posted often (and you can always suggest one of your own).
