Dedicated to all Veterans who have served our country

Hi, I'm Rod Fausey aka Rod Douglas from Toledo, Ohio now living in Northwest Indiana. I served two tours in Thailand with AFTN, the American Forces Thailand Network. One year at the Ubon Royal Thai Air Base from 12/1968 to 12/1969 and at Nahkon Phanom Royal Thai Air Base from 8/1970
to 8/1971. About 7 years ago I was able to meet some other Air Force
Veterans who served only in Thailand, but had "Agent Orange" related
diseases. I started to research as they did and over the years discovered
that "Agent Orange" and other defoliant sprays were tested and used in Thailand before use in Vietnam. Three of the bases in Thailand were used
as staging areas for spraying missions over Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and
Burma. The spraying was conducted by USAF personnel and Air America personnel. Also the bases themselves were sprayed with defoliants to
clear the jungle area in order to build the airstrips and the base itself. U.S. Military personnel were exposed to these defoliants in
the air, the water and the food from the local economy used in the
chow halls and military clubs on base. Thousands have been diagnosed with "Agent Orange" related diseases. Official documents were made available from retired Air Force members, who knew what was going on
but didn't realize the consequences. A bill was supposed to have been introduced in 2009 called the "Agent Orange Equity Bill". This bill
would have given Thailand, Laotian and Cambodian U.S. Vets parody with Vietnam Vets. The bill was supposed to be introduced by Congressman Bob Filner from San Diego, California. Then it was stalled until 2010, then dropped. The government believes that it will cost too much money. So if
you have "Agent Orange" type diseases don't expect any help any time soon. By the way you may not be aware of the fact that the military chartered aircraft that flew out of Travis Air Base for Thailand actually landed in Vietnam before landing in Bangkok. For more information contact me at rod.douglas@yahoo.com or Dennis and Maryland Oliver at mamabear47@yahoo.com. You might consider putting a little pressure on your U.S. Rep or Senator. If you don't believe me do a search on the Internet.
