Fifty years ago, Valdemar was thrown into havoc. The survivors travled north and hoped. For in Karse was a son from the marriage of a Valdemar King and a Karsite Princess. The Son of the Sun agreed that should a child or grandchild of that boy be Chosen, they would be permitted to journey North to take the Valdemar Throne. The Child has been Chosen, and must bring the new generation of Heralds to save Valdemar.
While she's more prolific in the Valdemar worlds and, of course, we love those books, my favorite are the novels and stories about Diana Tregarde and (especially!) Andre. We want more Andre!!!! I can understand why she stopped writing about Diana, but that doesn't mean I don't yen for more. Now, on with the next book in the _Joust_ series.
