I haven't felt like blogging lately. Well, what I mean is, I'm never near my laptop when I feel like blogging, and then, when I am near it, I don't feel like it. Conundrum. So, just fyi, I'm alive, all is ok, Spring is springing, I brought my bike out of storage today and will commence riding it tomorrow. The roads are dry and clear. I can't wait. ...

IMG-20120322-01172.jpg , a photo by karlakp on Flickr I rather like today's outfit. A skirt made from vintage textiles I got in Amsterdam years ago, a vintage cardy, my grandmother's brooch and lace. I like the textures.

Again, I've been neglecting this blog. I feel bad about that because this blog is very dear to me, but I've gotten addicted to Facebook games, a rather sad commentary on how I spend my time. Anyway, I offer up this link to some amazing street art that uses packing tape . :) Feeling: busy ~~~o0o~~~ Thanks for reading and have a chocolicious day.

Cool Street Art

So yesterday Ash started calling me Crocodile Mama. I know, where does she get these things? I don't know. It's an improvement (sort of) from Monster Mama, which I was called earlier this week. And she still throws in Mr. Mama all the time. She kept calling me Crocodile Mama and when I'd answer her by saying, "Yes, Ashtyn?" she'd say, "NO, it's Cro...

Crocodiles and Monsters

Well, what can I say about this week? Um . . . oh yeah. We almost had a major disaster. It was a major disaster, come to think of it. But it could have been worse. Here's what happened: So the kids and I go to a playgroup on Mondays (if I can talk myself into getting ready in time. In my opinion, Mondays are meant for pajamas). So this Monday I'd ...

Walls Coming Down

How do household noises influence our bodies? Our daily life has its own kind of music. When I first discovered the animation of Shiho Hirayama ( 平山志保 ), b. 1979 in 2009 , I was delighted by the simplicity and humour of her works. She has a great eye for movement and the transitions in her short line drawing film Swimming...

Sound of Life (生活の音, 2010)

I saw this somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't recall where. But I do love the sentiment. "Chocolate doesn't ask silly questions; chocolate understands." I think that's my new motto. Feeling: blah (allergy season has commenced) ~~~o0o~~~ Thanks for reading and have a chocolicious day.

The Wisdom of Chocolate

I am linking up with Shannon over at LAID for So What Wednesday! This week I'm saying so what if: I went to a Pickwick concert on a weeknight and pretended to be a college student again. At said concert, I was stuck behind the one guy in the room who decided to be Mr. Step-Up dancer and he continually hit my arm while swinging his. Lincoln wants t...

So What Wednesday!

One of the joys of retirement is being able to have a nice, leisurely lunch with friends who are also retired. Today, I joined two friends and former colleagues at Veselka's new Bowery location (well, just west of the Bowery) for pierogis (a variety: potato and cheese, chicken, and pot roast, with applesauce and sour cream -- I don't like sour cre...

not for US release.jpg , a photo by karlakp on Flickr. MMS-email A movie advertisement. They will have to change the title if they want to release it in the US. Imagine all the offended conservatives and Christians confronted with such language! (Puts her hand to forehead and faints)

For those of you that read my blog - you would know I have not been working for the last little while.... :-) which means that just as I have am the happiest I have ever been - money is not readily avaiable, BUT even this has an upside. For example, I have rediscovered my dormant cooking skills  - I can even make pretty good chocolate chippy c...

Long Live the Baking Soda!!

I am linking up with Shannon for So What Wednesday! You should try it, too! This week I'm saying So What if: 1. I ate half a jar of honey because that was the only sweet thing I could find in the pantry. 2. I had a tragic doctor visit with my kids and left feeling sweaty and stressed beyond belief. 3. I am working, working, working and will have t...
